CUPE Local 389 is preparing to bargain collectively with North Shore Neighborhood House for your next Collective Agreement. In preparation for bargaining, we would like to invite you to please complete our bargaining survey. Please complete the survey by October 17, 2025.

This survey is the main way we’ll be gathering your feedback, hearing your thoughts, and identifying the priorities that matter to you as we prepare for negotiations. Every response strengthens our collective voice.

District of North Vancouver Bargaining Update

October 2, 2025

Dear DNV Members,

We’re reaching out to let you know where we are at with bargaining with the District of North Vancouver. We met with the District on September 25, 2025 where we presented a full offer for settlement.

What’s a full offer for settlement?

An offer for settlement is a complete package of proposals covering all outstanding issues at the bargaining table. It allows the Employer to see the entirety of the changes we are seeking all at once, instead of discussing individual changes one by one.

The offer for settlement presented by the Union included members’ key bargaining priorities, such as a fair wage increase and improvements to extended health and dental benefits. We believe the offer outlines a clear path to a fair agreement and will hopefully help move negotiations toward a timely conclusion.

What happens next?

We’re scheduled to meet with the District on October 24 for another day of bargaining. They’ve committed to responding to our full offer for settlement at this meeting. We’ll send another update after that session, and in the meantime if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out.

CUPE 389 Family Picnic and Bocce Tournament – Saturday, September 13, 2025

Dear CUPE 389 Members,

We are so excited for you to join us on September 13 for our CUPE 389 Family Picnic.  This event will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

At Ray Perrault Park

1405 Grand Blvd

North Vancouver BC V7L 4J2

Join us for an afternoon of:

  • Food and Drinks
  • Inflatable slide
  • Sumo Suits
  • Basketball Free Throw Contest
  • Games such as 3 legged races, Axe Throwing, Corn Hole
  • Bocce Tournament is from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Spaces are limited, 16 teams of 2, first to respond get to compete.  We will try and make sure there is 1 team per Unit)
