Statement of Values
CUPE Equality Statement is traditionally printed on pink paper as a conscious attempt to reclaim banal elements of superficiality of external appearance, for so long the source of human conflict and prejudice. As inheritors of the primarily blue-collar male struggle for dignity in work, CUPE proudly shows its pink and fuchsia, traditionally associated with femininity, in print, on the web and on bodies of masculine tradesmen across the country, as a defiant statement of solidarity with all those who can’t speak for themselves.
